Upgrading to new tank

Hey guys, I currently have a 10 gallon IM cube with an AI prime and a nero 3, it has been running for around half a year. Very recently got a hammer, acan, and some zoas and have had a pair of clowns. Now I'm thinking about moving them into a waterbox 20 cube as my liverock is taking up a lot of space and I want them to have more room in the future and that is the largest tank I can upgrade to. Probably going to ask for it as a christmas gift. Any advice on how to transfer all the livestock into a new tank? Will probably get new live caribsea sand as I heard that using old sand could be harmful. I have a pretty decent amount of established ceramic media 2 smaller bags and one large one. Also, do I need to get any additional equipment (lights, powerheads, etc.)? Thanks for the help.

Just did this. New sand, transfer rock and livestock and water. Tank is now thriving.

I did transfer a cup full of old sand to new tank as well.

After you put the new sand in and it clears up, you can just transfer everything over right away.

I like to use the old water so the old and new tank parameters match

Yes no need to cycle. Sometimes you might get a mini cycle but nothing to worry about if your livestock is already in there.

You think the coral won’t be too stressed by another move?

They will but using same water helps a ton. Same temp and salinity. Corals get stressed with sudden temp and sudden salinity change. You have acros?

No sps for me yet… too advanced for me just a small acan and zoa frag as well as a larger hammer

Nice yeah you will be fine. Those corals are pretty hardy. I did a tank transfer with clam and all. It’s all patience. Acros aren’t that bad. The key is stability. Not changing temp salinity or other things too quickly. Need some more corals ? I have some GSP you can put on your back wall and some pulsing Xenia.
