Urchin spawning question.

Do pencil urchins need mates to reproduce. My urchin released a white stream of stuff yesterday and I think it spawned. Just want to make sure.

Nope it did it while my hands were in the tank scraping coralline of the back glass. It looked like someone was squirting milk in the tank. First time I ever seen it.

Well my urchin must have been shooting blanks because haven't seen no mini me's moving around. But it's spines did go from blunt to very sharp a deep red. I just it's a good thing because every morning I can tell we're he went from the bald rock tracks. Lol
