could i keep a blue tuxedo with a longspine urchin? i have a 55 reef and the longspine would eventually go into a different tank. trying to control caulerpa here. i already have a tuxedo urchin and have read that the spiny guys do a great job of controling caulerpa so i was wondering if i could mix them.

thanks, nicki

There won't be any problem with keeping them in the same tank as long as there's enough food.

I will never keep another urchin. I've never had one that's reef safe. They eat my sps and I had one eat the branch off of one of my frogspawns so it is just the head now.

I have two long spine and neither one are problematic, they make a good addition to the tank but they grow really fast

so far the tuxedo is my favorite part of the tank and he hasn't touched any corals. he actually came with two different kinds of zoanthids on him, scoooore. and the spiney would eventually go in a fish only 70 gallon and i was planning on feeding him algae from the reef tank.
