Lol @Hemmdog naw come one now, it’s only 125 dollars :). Do your realize how much ladies spend on hand bags, clothes, shoes, makeup, soap, bubble bath, you name it. I’m sure she is an amazing wife, she won’t be mad. If so get her a new evenning dress, maybe a spa day if she likes it, and have a dinner date. She will understand the purchase of a 125 gallon tank.

But for real,
If you did that you would have to figure out how much actual water will be in the sump. If I was doing a build as big as yours personally I would want 100+ gallons water volume in my sump alone. The price is a steal, no question about that, do you have space for a bigger sump? Like a Rubbermaid horse trough.

the cost of those valves at a plumbing place is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS, Call a local plumbing supplier or find one online. I but them in Bulk when i purchase other plumbing supplies i keep stocked on my Van From a Wholesaler.Knowing the wholesale price the markup from Aquarium Related places on them Is nothing short of Extortion .
I would provide where i get my stuff from but. You must have a Contractor license , Tax exempt numbers and Company account for billing. They do NOT do cash only revolving Credit with a 500.00 min order...
with that all said they are still much cheaper at local plumbing suppliers and even online plumbing providers .

Well my Fav Jeans have no right pocket at all and Stupid tiny back pockets.. Actually its almost impossible to find pants that fit me like i want with Pockets big enough to hold anything. Yeah i am picky.. Shorts are even worse UGGGGGGHHHHHHHH

Holy cow I didn’t see any of these new posts lol wow now I’m behind on my own thread once again.
@Hemmdog im still chewing on what I’m going to do honestly. I would prefer the sump be in my garage and plumbed in. But then, I have been told to plumb my 240 in with it also which would be nice. It would be nice because my sump in that one is well nicely said, very lacking. Though as I solve a few problems by doing that, I open about 30 cans of oops by plumbing both together because my 240 is pretty stable now.
I will have mixed live rock and dry rock (new idea I wanna try) but if it’s plumbed in, it would or could crash my 240. Another nice idea is those warm bath robes the fuzzy ones, we tend to lounge in them and get nothing done. Would give you the chance to avoid hunny dos and start a new tank. M
@norfolkgarden i will have to read that, you have been quiet, how have you been? Sorry (edit) was side tracked but I have thought of a new house still but yeah. The interest on my home now is I think 3.49% and that’s on a 30 year fixed. I haven’t had time to check if it’s lower than that or not. But I have found some that I really like a lot but have really been chewing on the idea of building my own. I would love to have both my tanks in Wall, but in the shape of an L. I’d love to make it look like one large tank. The only problem with that is, the 240 is 4 inches taller than the new one. The 240 is 34 inches tall and the new 425 is 30 tall. So I’m sure they can make it look he same some how but, I would have to rip it down etc. plus I hate moving, it’s like someone is slamming my toes in the hood of a car repeatedly. Even when I hired movers it just stresses me out and losing my current tank would really stress me out.
@Erica-Renee yeah I was able to get them to work again just had to use this really stupid heavy looking wrench on them. Bored it from my oldest brother and he handed it to me and it went right to the drive way. I was lucky it didn’t hit my feet, then I had to pick it up. It was my weight lifting class for the year. It probably weighs as much as my five gallon jugs which are a tad over 40 pounds. Those I can kinda roll most of the way and then place them in the closet. But at least he had a nice laugh and told me he felt safer with him doing it then me under a glass tank, w 200 gallons of water, 200 pounds or less now of sand and 200 pounds of rock. He said I was definitely the smart one of us siblings but I win the award for lack of common sense and being clumsy. I have never felt more loved :).
@James Hammett umm my pants don’t even have pockets. Those come with pockets really, it must be a guy thing. Most girls have a purse, or in terms of myself I have this wallet type purse. It’s nust a tad bigger than a wallet but larger enough to put my phone and keys in. I can’t believe I have all these nice pairs of pants and no pockets. But if I did have pockets I wouldn’t stuff sharp things in them such as car keys lol, but maybe (ahh that’s harder than I thought) what would I stick in there?

Hahaha that is so funny, also such a good gift idea. I hear your struggle, I contemplated plumbing a 60 gal frag tank and a monster sump into my 90, but I’m hesitant for the same reason, things finally seem to be settling in a bit.
Tempting me with new tank plans! I have been really wanting to set up a chill little nem tank with hosting clowns, simple and elegant. My LFS just picked up this sweet Lemon Drop BTA. I think it was called that.. anyways, I want it bad lol.

I don’t think you can get a 125 for the dollar a gallon sale. I think they limit it up to 40B. At least that is what I have gotten here. For a nice tank like the 425, I know I would go with a nice acrylic sump. We had talked about Elite Aqutics back a hundred pages, or so. Tyler is on Facebook, but he had a web site when I got mine. He is up sorta close to you anyway, around Ogden, UT. I am sure I can get an email address from him, if you are interested. You could also look at Geo, Bashea, Synergy Reef and Building An Obsession. Just some of my favorites anyway, but there are others. I think this would have to qualify as your dream tank, so make it as nice as you like.

Yeah, I have several struggles and some I enjoy and others not so much. A very real struggle is when your tank is doing really good and one has to do change to it instead of leaving it alone aka me. Even if I keep the tanks separate, I have enough room, just need way more time. If I could get my 425 set up and running like the 240 as good as it is for 14 months would be amazing. Granted I had a few set backs because I was, well dumb. I could have avoided the few that I had if I would have paid better attention to the corals. They really do tell you if they are happy or not and really fast.
Yet again, I have been looking to get a new home, aka build my own. I really hate the fact some house designer thought it was brilliant to place all the bath rooms upstairs. Such a failure when it comes to home, then there is me who was dumb enough to think the hallway closet was a half bathroom. Should have looked before I said yes I will buy it, then when I open it to place the normal bathroom stuff in it, I find a closet instead of a sink and toilet. I probably looked for the bathroom for an hour. Then when I called my realtor she kinda said remember they are upstairs (dummy). So yeah I want to design my own home, that has my own fish room with both tanks together like an L. Haven’t figured all that out yet, but wheels are turning lol. But, I still have the brakes on because I hate moving a lot, and I don’t wanna tear down my 240. Plus once I move I will probably make it a single level, and then I will search day and night for the stairs to go upstairs. Then I will say what a terrible design then I’ll realize I was the one who made it. So yeah daily struggles are with me.

Like I’m currently struggling with what works with feeding and this new fish feeder thingy that my secret Santa sent me. It’s super cool and works great for mysis frozen cubes. But the seaweed version (they are green and look terrible in milk), take forever to thaw and break down. My fish just sit there and look at it then me, then the fish thing then me and go, don’t make us beg just feed us already. I normally stir it with a fork, and it breaks down the other green frozen cubes.
But I also use garlic guard, and it has worked wonders so I always use it. I can’t really do that since it’s a liquid which I could freeze but way (yeah nope). So since the mysis works great in it, maybe the others I will feed separate with the garlic guard. The nkce thing about the other is, they actually have to work to get their food. They have become lazy and when hungry everyone will literally stay in the corner that I feed. Every once in a while I will feed on the left and they kinda freak out on me. My Naso Tang and Lt tang go nuts and they become great whites in the tank at that point.

Lol sounds intense! Hahah looks terrible in milk, that’s to funny... what’s the auto feeder for frozen mysis cubes?? This sounds like something I need tomorrow! How does it keep the mysis frozen? How many cubes does it hold? To many questions lol, so sorry. All I’ve seen are the eheim ones and Neptune but that seems like it’s just for pellets.

Yes they look horrible in milk and I don’t suggest it ever lol. I was making the fish food in a cup, and as most know I love cold milk dearly. Well they were next to each other and I put the fish food in my milk instead of the cup of saltwater. Then as I made dinner I fed the fish but didn’t pay attention that no food came out. When I sat down to eat with my milk I noticed it was green and the cubes were thawing in it. Glad the garbage disposal was close and another reason why I hate not having a bathroom down stairs. It was definitely a moment that I wanted to throw up. Makes it hard running up the stairs.
I will have to take a pic, it’s a magnetic and comes apart it’s like a oh I will take a pic lol

Here are some pics and lol ironically didn’t realize dory was sucking down the cough medicine. No wonder she can’t remeber anything and or runs into things :).
But anyway the pics above show the feeder, and you can probably get maybe 30 in there. I mean six didn’t even come close and they are the normal sized frozen cubes.
Oh I could find away trust me have you ever played the board game mouse trap.
