I bought a 60g cube and it came with wet live sand (kept in 6inch water) The guy told me to use it as it has beneficial bacteria. Turns out, the tank has been stagnant for 2-3 weeks (no flow). Are the bacteria dead already? The sand and water were brown . I added saltwater and started cycling.....and today I stirred up all the sand. Did I just ruin a perfectly fine sanded ??

it will have the bacteria yes, but that sand will also have years of fish poop and rotten food and dead micro organisms stored up, who knows what all that will do to your water parameters later on.

Also, did you check if the rocks had any pests like aptaisia, cloves, algae, flatworms, etc......

I learned my lesson about putting someone else's rocks into my tank once. Never ever again will I add rocks or sand from another hobbyist tank.

I couldn't sleep ever since I went on a crazy rampage of stirring up all the sand. Thank you all for the replies !
