Using a iPad for video

i only have my iPhone and a iPad for video every time I try and upload a video to the forum and it doesn't like the format ( or rather the extension) how can I change it so I can upload videos to the forum

Easiest thing I can think of is to upload to YouTube and then link to that vid here.
