Hi after hours of fruitless and misleading information on how to pick a UV light, find a matching pump, and how to install and use the UV effectively by chance using Co- Pilot solved it all. I realize that AI only knows what it is fed or can find also a grain of salt is still required but it will find information that goggle will not. For example I wanted to ensure the bulb in my chosen unit was that proper intensity ie UV-C at the proper wave length 253.7 nm. It came back in seconds confirming that.
So it just asked for make and model of the equipment and a detailed description of you plumping layout. Also size of Tank. I went into greater detail not knowing what its capable of . As to pump gave it GPM size of inlet and outlet as well. As to the UV I gave thae complete bulb information as well as inlet outlet the diameter of the body the effective lenth mounting ie verticall or horizontal. Complete piping lengths, material, ( vynl ) fittings, diameter. It added valves where required calculated velocity , flow assumed 35% wattage output and made suggestions as well. Amazing. I will add the piping layout which apparently is common but unknown to me. I also asked it if you needed separate lines one for flow for Algae, the other for parasites. It said yes which confounds me since the lower flow for parasites to my mind deal with the algae as well. The only difference I could see was increased total Tank turnover. Be prepared to ask questions of it, It will print give schematic's a fitting list and just keep asking if you want it to do this or that. I am completely comfortable now as I understand that a lot of people install them incorrectly. It will allow other scenarios as well like different equipment . I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade my pump to a 700 GPM from a 500. It said no and explained why. It suggested any adjusting valves bee installed after the UV light to prevent pump damage. The next day because of a power outage I had to start over on the pump question because it cannt remember previous talks unless you change your privacy settings. I suggested it stop taking Tylenol
. That is when it canme up with the belt and suspenders install not the day before so like I said ask questions and get some background first so you know what to ask. It also suggested not to use clear tubing to prevent algae growth as by theory it is not expected to be used continuously.
On another note I bought a Marineland water polisher and I highly recommend it. I use it with cartridge filters meant for it . After about 2 months of use and replacing the filters every month and a half instead of cleaning them, I have not had to clean the glass for three weeks now. Just starting to form some now

. But I will once I find out what the symbols mean, and make sure I remember the math rules which I used decades ago. It also made some good suggestions improving the desighn. LIke I said sometimes you had to know which questions to ask. I assume that it just has faster access to the information that is out there and finds it in seconds as opposed to me trying to rephrase searches for Goggle which to me is an archaic tool now. I do also think you still have to decide what facts to accept since it is just spitting out popular concensus of the majority such as running seperate speeds in parallel to attack the algae as opposed to Parasites. 
Sorry had to squeeze that in. It is just way faster to search and actually get facts that took hours before. Yes there is a selfish reason for me to post that about the marineland filter. Its such a well thought out and as far as I am concernedversatile usfull tool I want lots of people to buy one as its cheap for the return lol. It slowed my Alagae growth unmeasurably. The dedicated fikters are not cheap but hey. My Geekpure UV is a great deal $60 canadian I think for the .5 6 GPH one that I put on my 24GPD Rodi Saved the day. The 25 Watt for $ 219 gives you three bulbs and three Quartz sleeves try to find that in any UV that is sold under the Aquarium banner, Then the bulbs if you can find them require a second mortgage. While AI proved to me these 9,000 hour bulbs were great, as opposed to an article saying anyone claiming that you should run away. While all you have to do is change the bulb in 8 months and clean the Quartz sleeve with vinegar . That Randy Holmes answered for me, but AI also spit out. Also replacement bulbs are &100 for two for it. It also gave me the belt and suspenders piping layout which apparantly is common but seems to be a well kept secret here. Again a chat group dedicated to Aquariums Requires you to think of Questions Which me and others is based on Absolutly no knowledge of the more that hobby to ask . While you should be able to find a complete accepted guide published. But everyone is too busy competing for like comments to get that chemicaly induced good feeling instead of a quiet inner satisfaction of helping others. So yup Ai good for me. Back to the marineland in what set up do you think it is good for parasites ? I actually did try to use it with Demetriou's earth as suggested in a thread ( a diatom filter for under $100 ) Paul B was involved there with an actual project. I did build one but getting the powder in was a pain. Someone suggested the marineland and stated that you could load it with the powder easy. The reason is because Pauls design used the pump in a " draw " application because of the fear of collapsing the filter on a positive pressure application. I told him about Marinelands solution ( the plastic insert ) and he told me he uses a 5 micron filter without the powder with the same results. So what else do you use it for ?
