I read a while back, that the writer said not to change the brand of salt company's, stick with one, as it can cause problems to you corals etc. This does not make sence to me, but is it true & why ?

Consistency is always a good thing. It let's troubleshoot issues better and attribute changes in the tank to a change in your routine.
You can certainly change salt, but I wouldn't be switching every other bucket out for a different mix.

It's ok to change salts. Just don't do it in a large water change. Change your water change schedule to 5-10% at a time and just start using the new mix. Nothing will know the difference. I have read the same thing. I think it could be a problem with 20% or larger changes. I have switched it before and had no problems. A large water change with the same salt can cause problems as well.

I don't think changing salts is a concern as long as you understand the changes to calcium and alk, and cannot really imagine a scenario where it would. Many people just use whatever is cheapest the day they look to buy it. :)
