Hello All--I have 180G mixed reef tank. I have 2 MP40's (one on each side of this 5' tank). I also have a Maxspect Gyre XF-230. I want to incorporate this, but am not sure as to placement. I am willing to replace one MP40. Does anyone have a similar set-up they can advise me on? Vertical placement, horizontal, mode suggestions? Thanks!

I have a 175. 2 xf250s and 2 mp40s. The xf250s face each other and the mp40s are on the back wall breaking up the flow.

If I was you. Sell the mp40s. And buy 2 neros.

Gyres on opposite ends and neros on the back wall.

Maybe pick up another xf-230. I have 2 MP 40's on the ends of my 6' 165g tank with two xf-230 gyres on the back wall on each side of the tank. I really like this set but note that with the gyres on high speed on the back walls it impacts the flow of the MP 40's such that they don't reach as far across the tank. I run my gryes in alternating gyre mode switching directions every 1 minute so that they MP 40's can provide unimpeded flow when the gyres are in reverse. Work's well for me. You can see the positioning in my build thread in post #16 if interested.
