Using Quikrete on Rock scape

So I just got it all set up, and in place. I didn't realize the cure time was at least 2 hours. Could I cover the rock with damp newspaper and let it cure overnight without "killing" the Live Rock?

I guess the reply is too late, but you can actually submerge concrete and it'll still set. Might just need to give it some time to firm up first so it doesn't fall apart.
