Using Red Sea trace colors A,B,C, & D?

Has anyone mixed all 4 trace elements and just use one dosing pump to add to their aquarium? I’ve mixed them in 4 equal but in small amounts and dose the tank. I haven’t done it long term but was thinking doing this in a container and use just one dosing pump. Any reason I shouldn’t do this?

Do you have any problems determining how much of C and D to dose daily? I am starting to use them but find the instructions difficult. They want to know ppm of Ca that one is dosing, but the amount I dose is 25 ml per day and do not know how to convert to ppm. I have a 90 gal tank.

I am not a chemist, but there is a reason that Red Sea does not sell a combined formula.

My thought would be that some of the chemicals would off set each other/ cancel each other out sorry I forget the exact term now:)

Approx 1ml. But it also depends on sps load and water volume. I have 50 gals and dose 20 milli/day of ca.

I would not mix them, but can’t be sure since Red Sea does not say exactly what is in them, and what they do say on their web site has incorrect descriptions.

Correct. Only A and B say refrigerate.

You refrigerate Red Sea "Reef Energy" A and B

Not the A and B of the "4" Red Sea "Color's Program"
Reefer's hitch all 4 of the color's bottles to their dosing pumps all the time.

You can't do that with Reef Energy A and B. It has to stay cool and stirred.

How much are you dosing of each and what is your water volume?

You dose the Red Sea "Colors" to your reef's calcium intake, per Red Sea's instructions.

If your reef is not in-taking cal and alk, then you don't use the Red Sea color's.
You will wind up overdosing trace elements if your not in-taking cal and alk.

Randy, do you not like these products? What do you recommend?

I don’t have an opinion one way or the other. I know many people like them, and it’s a fine way to go. Ideally, I’d prefer to dose what I actually need and not dose something I already have enough of.

My compliant on their description, aside from not saying what exactly is in it, is the ludicrous statement about diatomic halogens (e.g.,Br2, F2, etc) which the web site actually lists but most definitely are not present. Way too toxic, and have no reason to be added.
