Due to space constraints I am thinking of making a water changing station for my freshwater and saltwater tanks using the same external pump. I found this picture on a different post and was thinking of something similar to this. I would like to be able to use the external pump as a circulation pump for each barrel when needed. Does anyone see a potential problem with this? I plan on flushing the hose after each use so as to minimize the mixing of salt and fresh water.

Thanks

As you've already noted, I think the biggest issue is going to be potential mixing of both waters. As long as you account for that, I don't see any other issues.

My station is very similar to the photo. I just turn some valves and flush out the fill tube.
