UV bulb replacement questions

Do you guys do anything to check your bulbs, or do you just have a maintenance cycle to replace them every so often? Mine's been running going on a year, so I think I should probably go ahead and have a replacement ready.

I replace mine once a year. As the bulb gets older it does not work as efficiently. You should never wait for the bulb to go out
