I purchased an AquaUV uv sterilizer, the 15 watt advantage model. My goal is to help mitigate any fish disease, however, cleaner glass is also nice. I had a Sicce 1.5 pump lying around that I used to supply it. The Sicce 1.5 is supposed to output 357 gph. I checked my flow rate today through the UV using a 5 gallon bucket and timer and I'm only getting around ~170 gph. According to AquaUV, these are the dose rates:

233 gph = 90,000 μw/cm²
280 gph = 75,000 μw/cm²
350 gph = 60,000 μw/cm²
466 gph = 45,000 μw/cm²
700 gph = 30,000 μw/cm²

Per this, I'm off the charts. Is it worth further trying to dial in the flow rate? Since I'm already over the 30,000-40,000 μw/cm² they say will sterilize live phytoplankton, is there any risk to "overdosing."

You don’t have to run your Uv around the clock. I like runnings mine after lights out. From my memory the slower flow rate is for disease and high is for algae control
