Are you referring to the UV channel in your LEDs or UV for water sterilization? If you are talking about your LEDs, it can be on the same amount of time the rest of your lights are on.

The main thing is to ensure proper set up ie confirming flow is correct for the dose or useful intensity of the actual bulb which some manufacturers refer to as a filter . I also am wondering what you are using it for Algae or Parasite control . Bearing in mind parasites cant be eliminated only controlled from everything I have read here and other sources , Therefore I have no scientific proof of control of Parasites. There would be an obvious visual confirmation as to Algae. Therefore I would set your own schedule for that . Others claim that the light will also kill beneficial micro organisms which to me is a logical point. I would do accurate research excluding any opinion related advise on this question including manufacturers claims. I can only respond to the ramp question assuming that you are talking about time not flow. Just use a timer unless you manually turn it on and off , again set your own schedule. Opinion

I have the IM 15 gallon cube. The UV light is the one made by IM that fits into compartment one of the filter area. There are no specific instructions regarding on-off periods.

Sorry for the confusion. I am setting up an IM 15 gallon cube. The UV light is the one sold by IM that goes in the first compartment of the filter.

I cannot find specific information on that light just an installation video that provides no real useful info also found that some of those type have obscene prices for replacement parts if they are even available and are prone to premature failure in my experience with a particular make. My light on my Rodi set up requires an annual replacement of the bulb/ filter. Is that necessary ? My Di meter says otherwise . If you research you will se that flow is very important which I cannot find . As to the bulb rated watts is not usable watts the bulb must be UV-C and known intensity is important this info should be provided to you and set up or your efforts have been wasted

If you are talking about this uv IM sells then it should be run 24/7.
Not something I would want in my IM 15.
