UV, Run 24/7 or ??

So I've really wanted an Achilles and got one from a friend/LFS. Beautiful little guy. Anyway I was slow to install the UV and in a couple of days got ich and soon spread to some other fish. Needless to say it'll be a little while before I get another Achilles. The purple tang pulled thru once the UV was running.

For those that run UV, do you run it 24/7 or intermittley?

run mine all the time have no issues.

I run mine intermittently when needed. Just be careful if you are medicating. They can play havoc with the medication.

I ran one all the time. It was running when i lost my powder brown. It seems the prettier and more expensive the tang the easier they get ich.
I now have a powder brown healthy going on 6 months. Garlic soaked algae and a few cleaner shrimp helped him get accustomed.
