UV Sterilizer and Ick

Tank has been running for almost a year and I had an ick outbreak a few weeks ago that spread from fish to fish killing everyone of them. Now the tank only has shrimp, crabs, snails and a starfish. Im going to wait the 72 day time frame to make sure the ick life cycle is gone before introducing any new fish. My plans are to add a UV sterilizer and was wondering if I add it now am I able to add any fish sooner than the 72 day wait time ???

No. A UV can't eliminate 100% of parasites - all it does is sterilize them. The fallow period is to ensure 100% that they all died off due to lack of hosts.
