Anyone use this setup in a Reefer 170? If not this one does anyone have a recommendation to switch from the 25mm to standard so I can use locline from my LFS.

Check out VCA sponsor sub forum. May get help there. They are also pretty responsive on the forum as a whole. Also poke around VCA's website, they make all kinds of adapters and I believe Red Sea is one of those.

@Vivid Creative Aquatics can you help?

I run the VCA RFGs in all my tanks. All three of my IM and JBJ AiOs needed adapters, so I'm using the appropriate VCA ones. No issues. Everything fits and works perfectly.

That particular kit (Dual 1/2in) is pretty big in terms of physical size for the Red Sea Max 170. The better option is actually the single1/2in RFG.

With that said if you have a pretty good size pump (800 GPH or more) , and you don't mind the physics size of that dual 1/2in kit, then you can add the Ultimate Return Line Upgrade kit that you linked to - but you will likely need to pair it with an addition adapter. Most Reefer 170s are the same as the MAX series, in that they don't have a sump.

The Red Sea MAX series has an 18mm inlet, as opposed to a 25mm inlet like the rest of the Reefer line (I know - it's a bit confusing)

If yours DOES NOT have a sump then you would need to add this adapter to make the dual 1/2in kit work

Its our 2025-075 Multidapter™ with the 3/4in Loc-Lin connector. it has an 18mm inner diameter and slip-fits right over the stock inlet.

The single 1//2in kit already includes this adpaper.

If that doesn't make senses or you need addition help - you are welcome to just give us a call, and we'll be happy to help
