Vectra m2 mounting options

I'm going to use a vectra m2 for my closed loop. Naturally it will be mounted externally under the tank in the stand. Of course I am finding myself with little room and looking for mounting options. For instance can I just screw it to the wall of my stand using the holes for the feet? I could use rubber mounts to keep some vibration isolation. Could I mount it upside down to the top of the stand directly under the display tank in the same fashion? I'm trying to avoid attaching a shelf for it to sit on because it will end up being a bit bulky and take up more space.

This is a tough question.. id reccomend not mounting it upside down

I can't imagine it would make any difference whatsoever. Plus, the outlet can be rotated so the plumbing won't have to make a u-turn to head back up to the tank.

Good point. I was leery at first saying yes or no, but this sounds like a possible,,,,

Pretty sure I’ve seen a Jake Adams video where he mounted his ecotechs upside down on his closed loop system.

I will try and find it and link to it if I can.

Biggest caveat with removing the rubber bumpers in the feet holes and using screws instead would potentially be the extra sound from the vibrations that could be introduced.

Found it…



He didn’t mount it up side down.its oriented on its side and not connected/drilled to any base. It’s being held in space by the plumbing. Can kind of see it in the thumbnail.

But to orientation.the pump will operate on its side upside down or whatever.

I figured it wouldn't matter. It would always have water in it and I'm pretty sure these pumps don't get lubricated by anything in the pump body. I thought about just having it hang from the plumbing but most people say not to. I might use a rubber mount like the way a car engine is mounted to eliminate vibrations. Will have to see what my options are when I get around to plumbing it.
