Which one on Amazon ?That looks awesome! I bought a $9 1/2" one off
amazon. It's been working pretty good for about 6 mos so far. It's nice not having to worry about replacing wood air stones.
What are the dimensions of your skimmer ?

Hi, I like your design. I see it's a draw thru Venturii, I am accustomed to push thru Venturii that I make at home. Does it require a pretty substantial pull to be effective? Did you turn your impeller into a needle impeller to break up the air further? Here is the design I used to make my own venturi out of PVC. I have been using them for years with great results.

You are so right and when the goal is to get to the end and have a working product. However, for many people, myself included, the fun is in the pondering, design, testing, redesigning aspect until you've got what you want. And at some point throwing in the towel and just purchasing a working product in the end in some cases :DWith above on this you do need a load pressure rate pump for this which is why you see the usually used for much larger systems. It is soo cheap to find a used skimmer and just buy a new pump for it if it needs that i dont see a reason to do diy for these size tanks IMO
