If in doubt should i just scrape it off?

I have stuff like that all over my tbs live rock and one of them is on a trochus snail. theyre not vermetids since they dont have mucus webs, only whiskers. if you see mucus then its vermetid.

Vermetids spawn sexually by their mucus. So if theres only one in that spot, its not likely to spread.

Ha I know what you mean, some lights are a pain

Is it hard or soft? Do you see anything coming out of it?

I just got home, lights are off. I shown my flashlight on it and there is nothing coming out of it after dark
