Versa pump questions

Hey everyone I’m looking at getting a versa pump for my 15 gallon AIO. Will be dosing all for reef. After reading some posts and different things, I’m beginning to realize that it may be more involved than I originally thought. It’s sounding like the inner tubing has to be replace pretty often and it’s costing 20$ every time. Also, what does it come with in the box? What do I need to buy along with the pump? It doesn’t look like it comes with any tubing at all? Can anybody who uses this set up walk me through it. I’m planning to use it for a very basic application… thanks.

I had a versa for a couple years and did not replace the tubing. All for reef isn't very corrosive, so it should last a while before it needs replacing.

Same here, I have 2 Versa dosing ESV 2 parts and haven’t changed tubing. I only had them for approximately 1.5 years and on the original calibration. I tested recently and it was still calibrated.

You will just need your reservoir and tubing. It comes with power supply, calibration cup, screws, mount, and some grease. The instructions are pretty good. Once you get it if you have questions ask away. I’m planning to get a third one for a newer tank using AFR.

I'd think for any dosing pumps that doses small amount ( not continuously ) will last for a very long time. Regular maintenance like re-calibrate and lubrication using something like Molykote will keep it going.
