Vertex Alpha 200 Pump

I was curious how long the red dragon pumps usually run for before it needs to be replaced. I am thinking of purchasing a used skimmer with the Red Dragon BK vertex 1500 however i cant find that pump for sell anywhere. Any insight would be appreciated.

That is one good pump, I know its expensive, but I'd replece it with the same. As far as how long they will last. Thats just to hard to tell. They are all different, and you just never know when one will go out. I ran a skimmer pump for 8 years before I started having issues with it.

Thanks reef madness. I was hoping that was the case. Supposedly its 3 years old but the new replacement pumps are $500+. So for the price i was thinking of getting a new skimmer with a warranty.
