Ok, my frag tank has everything but the rock.
I have been cycling a nano tank for a while now, but have not added any life forms to it.
I have the exact same amount of rock that is dry. I am now weighing out the option of resetting the nano and stealing the rock to get a good kick start on my frag tank.

Do I...
A) use the dry rock and leave the nano alone
B) use the nano's rock and restart its cycle
C) bite the wrong end of an asparagus plant and keep pulling my hair over this decision

:D

I say use dry rock. That way you don't have to take out the nanos rock and the dry rock won't carry any hitchhikers which could potentially harm the coral.

All great points. The nano was all started dry though, seeded from my 90reef with only a small plug...which will rule out any harmful hitch hikers. Does this change any opinions?

Half and half is not really doable, I have the nano scaped with one big chunk I built out of the tank, planning for turbo snails :D

The nano has a live sand bed, so it would cycle quickly as well.

Ok yeah...I'll use the dry stuff now that I think of it. The fact that I took the time to build the rock in the nano and that the live rock will go in the sump made me change my mind. Lol.

I would but the frag tank will need a fluctuating amount of additives depending on how many corals I have in it at any given time. Not ideal for a display tank, however would be extremely "corn"-venient

Well I solved my issue...no cycle for anyone (besides the actual tank walls...used extra rock from my 90...twelvefive knows i had plenty. :)
