So sorry for your loss, Randy. It’s never an easy one. Here’s some pictures of my Capone to help cheer you up.

lol

Makes me think of my daughters, who both went to Boston University where that breed is their mascot. :)

So sorry for your loss. Pets in our house are members of the family. I also lost our 18 year old pug this year. It was definitely hard as when someone is a part of your life for that long it just doesn't feel right when they are gone.

It's hard to lose them but the difficulty surrounding their loss is definitely worth the time we have with them.

Sorry for your loss. I lost both my GSDs in 8 months. Was really hard. Have one dog we know who's time is almost up as well. She is doing really well but she is 14 and we know she likely doesn't have much time left. We are not deserving of dogs that is for sure.

I have such a soft spot for these dogs. My mother was in hospice care years ago, and they had a dog there, which I come to find out was a Toller named Ruby. That dog was awesome.
They truly are. ♥️

Sending some puppy smiles. We’re blessed as dog owners to get to share our time with some of the worlds most special beings while we can. They’re always in our hearts.

Had to take our 17 year old beagle (Fran) to the vet this morning for euthanasia. Long downward spiral, followed by not eating or drinking the past couple of days.

I know how many reefers also have dogs. perhaps folks can post photo's of their happy dogs to make this a cheerier day. :)

This is a picture of her (left) and another beagle we had for many years (Jake) on the right taken years ago as they sunbathed on our back patio.

My condolences. As you are a pillar of the reefing community and a stand up person for all you do, wishing you and your family all the best as you go through this hard time.

sorry for the bad news Randy. The look lovely. For sure she had a wonderful life with you. It is just sad that they lifespan is shorter thasn ours, but I think is better. I could not bear the idea of leaving my dog without me. Thanks for sharing also your bad days. You are really loved around here.

Always sad times when having to say goodbye to an animal. Seventeen years is a good run. You gave the dog a good life, and that’s two lucky dogs. The shelter is full of dogs that will never have a chance at a good life.
Sorry for your loss.

I remember taking my last dog for her final walk to the vet. She was a 16 year old lurcher (greyhound x collie). It was only a short walk, but we still had to stop for a rest several times. She had a fast growing cancer. I remember fighting back tears as she danced around with her usual excitement at the thought of going for a walk. I felt like a murderer.

It was 9 years before I got another dog. This is he: Dylan (striking a pose).

How sad. Dogs are the best. They are angels sent down to earth in canine form to care for us. This is my shaggy monster of a bearded collie. Along with my daughter’s whippet and our family postman, a border collie cross.

Randy, I feel your pain. We lost our German Shepherd yesterday (day before Thanksgiving) she had cancer in her hind legs she was 11. She was a very integral part of our lives - we are just crushed.
