I recently got an viparSpectra light for a great deal on Marketplace. It’s in excellent condition, super bright, and working perfectly. I know this light can be pretty powerful for a 25-gallon cube (18” tall), so I’ll be using a PAR meter to fine-tune the intensity.

I’ll also be doing a slow light acclimation for the corals

That said, I was wondering if anyone here has experience running this light on a 25-gallon cube or a similar-sized tank. If so:

What settings (intensity, schedule) are you using?

Even on a 40-55g, I usually start it at 3 & 30 and then dial in from there. Also, remember that the intensity of the lighting is more about the depth of the water then the size of the tank.

HOW MUCH DOES A FISH’S FEEDING REQUIREMENTS AFFECT YOUR STOCKING DECISIONS?

  • Not much. I’m willing to adjust my routine

  • Not at all. Feeding demands don’t limit my stocking choices

  • I usually learn about the demanding feeding schedule after buying the fish!
