Cal 450
Mg 1420
Nitrate 5 (been dosing to try to keep measurable)
Phosphate .05
12in under G3 XR30 AB+ @ 100%

Anyone have problems with Vivid's insanity doing nothing? I've had it for a month and a half and it doesn't grow, doesn't base out or anything. It is also staying dark. It is under pretty high par, so should I move it? The ASD next to it is growing super fast (basing out and new growth tips from the base, but not coloring up much yet). The tips of the correlates look a little burnt.

I'm getting flatworm stop tomorrow to try to see if that helps. Any other tips? This is one of my favorite acros once colored up, and I'm scared I'd lose it.

While I can't speak to that specific acro, I can tell you that I've had acros in my tanks do nothing for a long time before they decided to adjust and grow.
One of the longest waits was a year. Frag didn't do anything...at...all. Didn't even really encrust the base. Then one day it takes off.
Unless I see something negative happening, I won't move sticks once placed. After a month, it's most likely just starting to settle in. Moving it will reset that clock IMO.
Also, do you have flatworms??

What par is it in. Using an XR30 at 100% intensity is a lot of light depending on tank size and layout.

12" at 100% is quite high.
Stagnant growth is not a bad thing but but something such as Light, flow, alk, can be the issue.
I certainly would look into renting/borrowing a PAR meter before cranking to 100%

I agree, we keep our Insanity at about 350 PAR. It seems like yours would be under much higher PAR.

This is my ASD is on the top of this rock and the northern lights to the left. The insanity is in the front. I've heard they like super high light. I'll probably need to check the par. The up close are pics with an orange filter (very blue lights before bed).

I don't have flatworms, just heard a ton about flatworm stop and how acros base out quicker, have better PE, and other things when dosed.

I ended up iodine dipping and moving it down today. I've been seeing more tissue reduction on the correlates, so I think I might be burning it.

Sad day today. She didn't make it. I knew it was going downhill once I didn't see the polyps. It's rough losing my favorite coral in my tank. Now to try to save up for another and hope it does better.

It came in pretty rough when I got it and slowly faded after.

I saw this thread earlier and with all the support I didn’t expect this ending. I had a friend at a fish store who always warned “The fish always look best right before they die.”
For me I have found “The more I want it to grow the quicker it dies.”
I share in your remorse. Sorry bud.

I appreciate the support. I'll try it again once I get other corals to grow out and trade for it. I'll keep trying till it keeps one day, lol.
