Vortec spongy thangs.....

Anyone run the prefilter things on the vortecs that come with them???? I know
It's gotta cut the flow to a extent but not really worried about that since there mp60s lol... But how often do you need to clean them etc if you do use them???? I'm thinking about getting one of those sick rainbow nems floating around and finally got over the fear of losing a few sticks but now my concern is a mp60 buffet!!!!:(

Not running one on my MP40. Heard they don't restrict flow that much though. Never tried it though.

Yes sir - I have one on my new mp10 and it has been like a nice additional filter. It catches all kind of crap in my tank including random bits of macro algae. I tend to clean it off every couple of days.

i took mine off u gotta be carefull the other day i woke up and one of my rainbow nems wuz gettin sucked up by my mp40 just keep and eye on them if i where u i would probably leave it on i regret taking mine off luckly my nem came bak :bigsmile:

Yup right under the sink in warm water...havent been caught by the misses yet so that is still my procedure LOL. Just an FYI i turn off my MP10 when i feed...otherwise it will catch too much food!

You want to use them if you have an anemone.

Yikes...i guess even the foam cover isnt make it 100 percent safe. Subielover - What was your power set to? Just out of curiousity.

100% and it was a day or two after adding the rbta, so it was still in its roaming to find a happy spot stage.
