Hello fellow reefers,

Going to be upgrading the wavemaker on my fluval m40 (14g), currently using an hydor koralia but want to get something that is controllable and of better quality. Which of either the Vortech MP10 or Maxspect Gyre would you recommend?

Current coral stocking is,

SPS

2x Plating Monti
1x Birds Nest
1x Birds of Paradise

LPS

1x Torch
1x Hammer
1x Duncan

SOFT

1x GSP
1x Toadstool

Any other corals that I add to this tank will be SPS.

Thanks in advance

Dom

In that size, I feel an mp-10 would be more useful and the control-ability would help you dial it in

+1 with mp10 . The mp10 would be a better pump for the application. I had one icecap1K on my nuvo 20 and was too much. Settings couldn't be 40% or higher. If you want a gyre, use your rock work to block/break up the gyre.
