Hi Everyone.

Our wall type frogspawn seems to have developed a paleness to its tentacle bases. It almost looks a little cloudy when the tentacles are extended - this is only on half of the wall - the other half looks fine - quite dark all the way to the skeleton.

It’s quite a new tank - 6 months since cycling. We have added just a few corals - couple of hammers, couple of torches and some softies. Water parameters are good although we typically have Nitrates in low 20’s and phosphate around 0.25-0.3. Salinity is 1.025 and calcium around 450, magnesium tests at upper 1300’s with Salifert.

I have added a few pictures taken at different times during the day to try and show it. The pale side does not tend to extend as far as the darker side.

We are a bit concerned as we had a Goni that succumbed to BJD - had to drag it and removed it to a QT.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks for your suggestion. I agree that it may be the start of a bacterial infection. As I mentioned we had a Goni go south quite quickly with BJD about a fortnight ago.

I did an iodine based dip this afternoon and spotted a couple of vermetid snails - one near the flesh so removed those as well. Here’s a pic during the dip.

Edit: I would like to dose cipro but need a prescription here in the UK. UV is on order.
