Sca aquarium 150 euro braced with Synergy reef overflow. Custom stand and 75 gallon sump all made by me and of course not flowing well.

Thanks. I love this website. Yes I was looking to get the build thread badge =)

Next up for the tank is putting doors on the stand and tomorrow I go to buy some T5 bulbs for my new dx18 and figure out if I want to ceiling mount with the included cables or build a floating shelf from the wall.

Monkey I made the stand (almost finished) and did a custom sump. I am one of those people who really like to have things their own way / design and I am super proud of my sump design so needless to say it was quite a bummer when it wasn't flowing well. After drilling a few holes, raising the water level and getting an adjustable dc pump things are working very well now. Can't wait to get a DSB going with maybe a sea lettuce macro chamber and oh yeah probably I'll get some fish at one point too

So admittedly it's not the best build thread I haven't really laid out a plan as others seem to do so I'll try to catch up now. Hopefully I can take a lunch break from work and run a few errands and pick up some supplies. T5 bulbs is one item on the list and I like the more white look. From the back thinking blue plus, purple plus, aquablue special, blue plus. LEDs can wait. Still need to get a controller and I'm thinking of the GHL profilux light or maybe the profilux mini 4 to add pH and temperature.

I don't have much in the way of rock except maybe 3 extra large base pieces on order coming from addictive reef keeping and after that I'll hit up my LFS. I've heard shipping is very slow so well see when it arrives. They also sell a reef safe dye which I'm very interested in using to tint my rock gray. Something different.

For fish here is what I tentatively have planned.
- 3 banggia cardinal fish
- 6 line wrasse
- Black cap basslet or gramma
- 2 watchmen goby
- tangs (so hard to choose... yellow eye kole spotted from Hawaii is one, I really like the white cheek tang and clown tang is my all time favorite but I believe the clown might outgrow my tank not sure on that)
- An angel. I had a French gray angel growing up with an awesome personality that I'm kind of nostalgic about but I also like the rock beauty and I don't have much in the way of yellow.

FIinally I'm on the fence about what direction to take my tank meaning FOWLR or eventually dabble with corals but I do like the narrow lined puffer a lot. We'll see is a bit overwhelming to nail anything down and fish / coral / plants are all so beautiful.

The sump is 75 gallons and it's fairly full so I'll have a large first chamber for macro algae and i want to do a a DSB in the second with maybe a few mangroves maybe some red gracillaria. My skimmer recirculates back into the first chamber so hopefully with all this natural filtration I can get some version of the triton method working for me.

Thanks for following along!

Working on the floating shelf for the aquatic life dx18 I purchased. Going a different route then hanging from the ceiling or the bracket from aquatic life. Hopefully everything goes without a hitch.

And mounted... Overall I'm pleased but definitely would not have chosen maple for my stand considering I went almost black. Brutal to stain. Poplar would have been cheaper and easier.

So, I picked up a bunch of rock that was cleaned and is being air dried after bleaching and extensive rinsing with prime dechlorinator. Water cycle is starting to show nitrate and ammonia is getting low. Might be able to do fish in a week. I want to be ready with the rest of my equipment and I need some help.

I am planning on getting a kessil H80 for the macro chamber with the goose neck mounting option and I have the aquaticlife dx18 t5. I like the GHL mini wifi for a mid level controller and I think it will be adequate but I want to be sure and I have a couple questions.

With 0-10v controllers you can't actually turn off the lights correct you can only change the voltage? Meaning to turn off a light you need it connected through a power bar? My plan is to run a sunrise / sunset with just blue plus t5 bulbs and ramp up purple plus and aquablue special (or maybe coralplus) for daytime. The macro will be on 8 hour night cycle. I intend on having two separate chambers in my sump one for green lettuce (starting that first) and the other for red ogo so will likely get another H80 or H160 in the future.

Will a GHL mini wifi with power bar be able to run all that?

Thanks,
