I have a red with green eyes war coral that's in the shape of a half sphere. From pictures it'll start encrusting on a rock or on the glass. If left on the sand bed how does it continue to grow?

I would prop it onto a rock and allow to encrust over the rock

So would it not grow or only grow very little if left on the sandbed?
Not necessarily. On the sandbed, obviously sand will get on it and irritate it at times
