War Coral Placement

I have several coral frags coming in the next few day but the one that I do not know enough about is the War Coral. I would curious about the placement. I would like to place it in the spot circled in red in my tank. Several questions. That is about middle of my tank from the top, it is slightly shaded and the coral would be completely vertical in the tank. Would it grow there? Will it encrust toward the light (so upward) or toward the sand (downward) or will it be very unpredictable? I'm not worried about it encrusting all over the rock because I love the look and the other corals will be mounted much higher and off to the sides quite a bit. Thoughts?

Try it! I'd place it on the upper most surface of that encircled red area.

That's kind of what I thought too but wanted to check with the coral experts :) Thanks for your advice
