War coral problem

I have 2 of them for several years. One being a two face and the other being a tyree wide mouth. The tyree still looks good however its large green eyes are now red. It is in the same spot on sand bed where it has been for at least 6 months. Does anyone have any ideas?

It's not uncommon for certain corals to morph colors. It depends on lighting and position. This sounds like one of those cases.

I agree. It happens more when you buy them and there in a completely different system. Did you change anything? like lighting?

No changes. I had this coral for a few years. It has been fragged for friends but i kept a decent piece. I asked one friend about his and it is still war coral is coloring. A red on red favia is boring and not a war coral. This tyree large mouth was one of the nicest war corals i saw. Hope it morphs back.

It was in same area. Moved about 3-5" further away from lobos. Still in same basic 250 MH area of sand bed. My two face war always grew faster but is on other side of tank. Guess i will move the tyree to that area.
