War coral vs chalice?

I woke up today and saw my war coral missing a chunk of flesh at the time the orange red chalice was touching it. Could the chalice sting my coral that bad or some sort of coral eating bug did this?

Could be getting stung. Inspect it for bugs just to make sure

The chalice coral can definitely sting other corals. Looks like a sting to me.

It was touching it but i havent seen stingers on the chalice. This definitely happened overnight.

I'd keep them seperated as they both can pose a threat to eachother.

It took me awhile for the war coral to grow off the frag disc and onto the glass. I gonna move the chalice to the other side
