I just got my mf121 in and I'm having trouble getting the pump going. The needle wheel twitches and the pump makes a light buzzing sound but won't go. I tried taking it apart and everything looks fine, I also tried blowing in the airline (I read that somewhere) and still nothing. It has the new needle wheel. Is the pump no good or am I missing something? Anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I actually just heard back for Jon right after I posted, lol. I guess there is another impeller for this thing. He made a couple suggestions so I can get it running in the meantime. Hopefully I can get it running since I don't have a back up skimmer.

Good luck. I am going to start mine beginning of next week. I have no clue what I am doing as far as the skimmer, never had one!!! I am a little nervous. My MF121 is just a waiting for me!!! lol

The only time my MF 201 did that was when I tested it in salt water and then hadn't used it in a while and let it go dry. See if you can disassemble it and keep it submerged in some RO/DI water for a while and then reassemble it and try running it in RO/DI water. That did the trick for mine.

Thanks for the tip I'll give it a shot.
