I'm in the middle of cycling my first ever saltwater tank, but now I'm thinking I chose the wrong sand for what livestock I wanted. I really wanted a yellow watchman goby but I went with the Carib-Sea Arag-Alive Bimini Pink sand which has shells in it that I didn't notice in the bag. Would I be able to keep a watchman on this sand or should I just remove it from my wishlist? I really want a goby or blenny in the tank, are there any that are not sand sifting? Are watchman smart enough to spit out stuff that they can't sift? Thanks in advance!

YWG aren't considered sand sifters like a DWG, for instance. You should be fine

I have also heard that. That's why I was asking because I've heard from some people that they are and some have said they just carry the sand out when they create their burrow.

I love this sand. Once I discovered it, I put it in all my tanks. I have 2 yellow watchmen gobies with thier partnered pistol shrimps, and they love this sand. The shrimp use the larger chunks to build with and I've never seen the gobies have any trouble with larger shell pieces. One ywg is 4 years old and huge compared to lil babies I see in the store.
