Thank youNice white tail. Good catch. I could never find one. Love the rubble scape. Love to see it a year from now.
Today will be night 4 on cipro. So on a different topic.
My yellow torch
So, i got this wild dragon fire (the yellow/green, on the left) torch when i first started my tank from my LFS. Thougjt it was going to die. But is actually my healthiest snd most robust coral. Survived multiple nutrient bottom outs, and is now in a tank that is super stable every week.
Last week i noticed something was off in its behavior.
Started to see tissue retract back into the skeleton.
No flesh band retraction like on previous torch losses.
mouth wasnt visible and bone was along the crown.
i dipped it and it got worse.
Shriveled tentacles, loosing tips. Skinnier. Not inflated. No desire to reach and extend.
The biggest indicator i saw. Was 0 pinching on the skeleton. Maybe not till this week it started to pinch/split and im just freaking out over it. Either way. Didnt look normal in my opinion to how torches typically go through a split.
Removed carbon
I dosed 5mgs of 500mgs cipro tablet diluted in 50mls of water nightly.
mouth is still inctact. It doesnt show on photo really but its there. No bone around crown.
color is looking better today, both halfs of it want to reach.
Maybe i bruised it during my coral rx dip. Maybe its bacterial.
im going to keep watch but this is My favorite torch in my tank. It gets huuugee.
Tank it Easy is my favorite store in Chicago - they’re actually reasonable with their prices and have a proper QT setup. Great choice shopping with them!Just sealed the deal at tank it easy in Chicago. Starting with a 90 gal system. My boss/friend is a guru in the hobbie so ill be following his advice on a lot of things.
Basic rundown of my planned system:
Sicce return pump
Kessil light (forgot the size. But its the size that covers 36x24inches ) getting a couple strips later to accommodate sps
A couple Mp 40s (i want to do more research to make sure i have my flow correct
Mechanical ato (100 bucks i think)
100 dollar heater (forgot the brand)
i plan to keep lps and sps and when i get the tank i will be coral cycling the tank to avoid the ugly phase and algae. Reefbuilders uses this method a few times.
i cant wait for this to start rolling
Yeah 1000%. I agree. I love the fish setup they have going on.Tank it Easy is my favorite store in Chicago - they’re actually reasonable with their prices and have a proper QT setup. Great choice shopping with them!

the key to my reef is keeping
phos at .08
alk at 9
Nitrate at 20
Calc 450-500
Mag 1500
