it’s been 4 weeks and I’m pretty my tank is cycled, I’m reading safe (using dip strips) ammonia and the nitrite is also at a safe level but I’m not confident in the test strips accuracy
I’m going to have my water checked at my local fish store to confirm it’s ready for me to move my fish over, should I do a water change now or do I wait ? If it cycled and ready for fish when can I move my corals? I only have a couple soft corals and a couple lps.
Last question, when should I turn on my protein skimmer ?

Water change wont hurt anything. It helps to lower nitrate after cycling. Nitrite isnt toxic in saltwater. It's best to let the tank mature a bit before adding your corals, but not required. I'd add some fish first before adding coral and bringing my skimmer online.
