I setup a 250l tank earlier this year and I could do with some help sorting out a maintenance schedule, as well as figuring what I should be dosing.
The fish from my old setup were moved over at the end of April. Since then I've been adding additional corals and fish.

This is my stock so far.

Fish -
  • Yellow Clown Goby
  • Blue Neon Goby
  • Royal Gramma
  • Midas Blenny
  • Purple Firefish
  • McCoskers Wrasse

Corals -
  • GSP
  • Kenya Tree x 2
  • Mushroom Leather
  • Duncan x 2
  • Torch
  • Hammer
  • Various Zoa's
  • Pearl Bubble
  • Fungia
  • Chalice
For filtration, I have a Clarisea and a skimmer. I do have a mangrove plant and macro algae in my sump, but they're quite small.

I've been monitoring my nitrates and phosphates and they've stayed low, so I've not done a water change for over a month.
I had a ICP done to confirm my readings.

The ICP shows that I'm low on a few elements. Iodine, Manganese and Iron.

For corals, I have quite a low load.
Should I be doing regular water changes to get these numbers up?
If so, how often and how many litres?
Or should I start dosing these elements instead?

Those three rapidly deplete and water changes don’t help much. Foods are likely keeping them afloat.

Water changes are good for other reasons, but if you want those three higher, you probably need to dose them.

HOW MUCH DOES A FISH’S FEEDING REQUIREMENTS AFFECT YOUR STOCKING DECISIONS?
