I have an automatic water change setup that is working well. But I have some questions. When I was moving some stuff around at the bottom of the tank and moving the gravel, it had quite a bit of stuff come out of it and clouded up the tank for a bit.
1. What is all the stuff I stirred up?
2. Should I do a regular water change every so often to vacuum all this little stuff up and rremove it from the tank?

I let the cuc and fish take care of the detritus that builds up in the sand . Two sand sifting twinspot gobies, 3 coats conches, nassarius and cerith snails. Also manage with copepods, amphipods and various worms.

Likely just detritus and the dust from the sand. I have a leopard wrasse that stirs it up occasionally and eventually settles down. If it’s detritus get a bunch of conchs and nassarius snails
