Water changes not enough

I am currently doing about 20% water changes once a week. I am having trouble keeping my alk levels up even after these frequent water changes. My Mg is at 1350. I have mostly softies but feel I have a pretty stocked tank. I use Fritz salt mix. My alk levels get down to 6 dkh a day after a water change. Thanks!

Maybe you should start dosing alkalinity. How's your pH and calcium?

pH stays between 8.0-8.2. Calcium tends to stay near 400.

I don't dose regular or at all. But occasionally I have my alk drops too low. When this happens, I add https://www.kentmarine.com/products/kent-superbufferdkh.htm
Once the values get back to normal, I stop.

I am currently adding "8.4" by aquvitro. Will this accomplish the same goal?

The instructions should indicate if the KH will go up.Are the ingredients listed on the label? If not,you may want to start dosing for alkalinity.
