Long story but I will try to not make this confusing.
Drilled my 75 gallon rimmed Aqueon for a Fiji cube lopro internal overflow box which is rated for 800gph. I was super worried about seeing the water line after reading all the bad reviews and experiences people had had that I drill mine slightly higher than recommended not taking into account as you increase your pump flow even with opening the gate valve the water will rise up the weir teeth.
Well I cannot turn my return pump up past 60% or so without water touching the bottom rim and cross brace of the aquarium.
Now that I’m switching the tank to saltwater I want to have the ability to turn up the flow of the return more.
If I get the next size over flow box which is a 1200gph will this help out? Seems like it would but unsure if I’m missing anything.
My return pump is a hyger which is rated for 1060gph.
