water level issue

i have a 120 gallon high tank 48x24x24
35 gallon sump
super reef skimmer
geo reef 618 calcium reactor
geo reef 618 kalk reactor

and my tank Evaporation level are about 1.5 to 2 gallon of water a day i was going to buy auto top off (ato) but someone that if a run a ato with my kalk all the time i can put to much kulk in my tank so to buy a BRS Top Off Doser one for my ro and one so go to my kalk reactor so 3 time a week with kalk and the rest of the week only ro that what the doser pump can be used as a auto top off ??????????????

I top off with kalk 24/7!!!! You have to figure out how many times to mix the kalk per day to keep up with ur demand. I mix 3 times per day for 1 minute on a medium stocked tank. No reason to have 2 units for top off.

You can use a bucket mix with kalk and drip with an aqualifter .on my 120g i drip one drop per second 24/7.

I evaporate about 3 gallons a day.

I use a 32 gallon trash can as a reservoir

I have two pumps One that goes through the KW reactor
(Two Litte Fishes KW Reactor) the other does not.

I have it hooked up to my controller to select
which pump to use depending on pH

Under 8.3 Top off with KW, Over 8.3 use Water only.

I use Maxi-Jet power heads as pumps, they are cheap and very reliable.

I was just using the reactor alone but my pH would get
up to about 8.45 so this helps it stay more consistent.

just keep it simple, you already know your evap rate, calculate your kalk need and just add the desired amount of kalk per gallon of mixed, start off with 1 tsp per gallon I doubt you'll ever have a problem with that dose

ok so i need to put 1 gallon of ro water daily how much kalk do i put in my kalk reactor and do run it with a ato or a does pump b/c i would need to drip it in right

Here's another idea. Do you have a controller? I used to have two dosing pumps both getting RO/DI water from the same reservoir. Pump 1 goes directly to the sump and pump 2 replenishes water to the kalk reactor. I have a float switch to activate the pumps via the controller, when the water is low. I have also programmed on to the controller to check the pH so I would know what pump to activate. So, if my water is low and the pH is above 8.2, I turn on pump 1. If pH is below 8.2, I turn on pump 2.

I use a Neptune Apex controller.

Try 1tsp per gallon and start testing if the numbers are were you want it leave it alone but check the cal/alk once a week and make sure it stays stable... If it's to low go 2 tsp per gallon etc until you have the right amount and everything stays stable... I run my ato 24hrs a day with kalk... Hth

It doesnt matter how much kalk you put in the reactor, I always put about 2 cups...... Once the RO water is completly saturated with kalk it will not dissolve anymore.

Some type of liquid level controller. I use the pressure from my home water system to push the water through the Reactor using the Spectrapure LLC connected to my RO filter
