So I have a deep blue 34g nano build thread, it started off as a clam system, but things kept progressing such as a basement 150g Rubbermaid sump. I really like the 36" length, but the 12" depth is a bit short. It was great for a top down viewing clam tank, but after some bad DD clams I moved away from that concept so I want near the same footprint but taller for better viewing. Here is the 34g build:

https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/harts-nano-sps-reef-deep-blue-shallow-tank-oxymoron.422898/page-15

I was considering the IM external overflow tank, however I dig the orphek using kessil mount that I bolted to the stand, and that just wont work with external overflow, and I don't want to do a wall mount. Plus the WB is 2" taller. Downside is the WB comes with a sump, which I won't use with the basement Rubbermaid, but hey, can't have it all.

I placed my order yesterday, WB is out of stock, but said they will be shipping 1st week in June. Pretty excited!

I ordered a sheet of black starboard for the bottom. I have glass only now, and it's fine, but the coral's don't really stick to it very well and I get tired of moving things back in place every night. I have used white before, but the upward glare from the lights really made things looks washed out and hit a lot of the LPS with too much light. It will be interesting to see how it works. Unlike the past I am going to silicone it down, I got thinner material this time and don't want it to warp. There is another thread with internal WB measurements, so I used those and will cut out the overflow box area.

Few other things... I ordered some conversions from metric to standard plumbing, I imagine will need more but it's fun to get a jump start on things. Coralvue shipping is crazy, 20 bucks for some PVC fittings!

I also am using the kessil arm mount for the orphek right now, I have them inserted into some 1" black pvc, however I see now kessil sells extensions that pretty much do the same thing. I ordered two of these since it will be a bit more secure than my PVC solution, although the black PVC looks pretty nice really. I got two of them so I can further secure the orphek on the stand, it's much heavier than the AP700!

Right now I am only using the back 2 mounts to the kessil stands, it feels totally secure, but why not try and improve it. After looking at the orphek tank mount I ordered some cut aluminum and am going to tap it and attach to the kessil extensions so I can attach the orphek fully to the mounts. How this ends up going is anyone's guess...

Excited to see this build! Is this your first big tank?

Thanks for following along!

Here is my old tank that I converted to FW after getting sick, but it's all good now! There is a build thread out there somewhere for it too... now it has altum angelfish!

120 at that time was just too much for some reason, however the gear was under the stand, moving a tank upstairs and having the sump downstairs with it elevated on cinder blocks helps me a lot. It's so easy!

You have a lot of really nice looking coral in there. Point and shoot shots came out great! What camera is it, and any post processing?

Thank you! It's a canon g15. Picked it up used a few years ago. I just googled it and they are like 60 bucks now!

I use the manual mode and the white balance on the camera, so no post processing. Well I did crop some, but not sure if that counts.

What are you ordering next?

I am not planning on anything. But I do get excited... Here is PEA pic of the hippo.

I might get different fish and a screen lid for the 100.3 when it gets here and put the current guys in the sump.
