I upgraded last 4th of July to a Waterbox infinia 150.4 from a 50 gallon cube. I’m finally at the point where I want to start adding coral to the system. I want to go for a mixed reef. I was wondering what you guys have set up for flow. Right now I have 2 mp40s facing each other. Since I have 2 viewing panels it would be nice to not have the mp40 on the one side. I tried putting that mp40 on the back wall and it blew all the sand in that corner away. Just looking for some ideas. Or even at what percentage you’re running your mp40s with this size of tank

Following, I plan on purchasing this or the 190.4 this fall and am curious to hear the answers. Hopefully people chime in soon.

Good looking tank! I watched a ton of videos on YouTube for flow. Still not sure I have mine set up great. Not sure about mp40 either. Mine are some I got from Amazon. But I have two gyre on the sides facing each other a little offset up and down left and right. And two round powerheads on the back wall and one on the side. Think it’s just a lot of playing around depending on rock placement and coral placement.

Definitely have thought about gyres but the maintenance is what I heard sucks. Once I have coral in there I’ll start playing with the flow more.

I bought some from Amazon and they don’t seem difficult to take apart to clean. But I haven’t had to yet and it’s been several months.

I think you could put both MP on the same side. I have two on the same footprint tank. I run them on opposite sides one closer the front glass and one closer to the back glass. I have considered running them on the same side to free up one side pane for unobstructed viewing, but have not attempted it yet.
I run on lagoon at 25% seems like the happy medium where Acropora are happy, sand stays put (mostly), and LPS are happy in the protected zones.

I’m going to try that. I’m definitely fine with mostly stays put lol

I have a 150.4. I have an Orbit 4 on one end, up towards the top, going left to right. I do run it in reverse for a couple of hours at night. On the right side of the tank, I have to Nero 3's. I have an over-complicated flow pattern running with Mobius. On the Nero's I run steady 60% flow at night, 70% random flow during the day, and for a few hours in the evening I run an 80% pulse mode. I am no flow expert. I just try and blast water all around during the day and let it settle down at night. The orbit runs a similar flow pattern but at 20% steady, 35% random, and 55% pulse. I run the reverse later in the evening at 85% since it is much weaker with reverse power.

I think the Nero 3s may be a little bit undersized, but they seem to be getting the job done. I had them on my previous tank, so they were moved over. Conversely, I may have overcompensated by purchasing the Orbit 4. If I turn it up too high, it will blast stuff away. The Orbit 4 does turn done enough so that it works out well.

I do not find the Orbit too challenging to clean. I pull the covers off either side and the impellers, soak or scrub them, and put them back on. The thing is mounted high in the tank, so it is easy to access.
I attached a couple of pictures.
If anyone has any advice on flow, I am open to some suggestions. I feel like I have overcomplicated my flow a little, but the corals seem to be ok with it.
