Hi all so i thought i would start a thread for my tank.
More so, so i can watch how it comes together but also some of you guys might know better ways to do things.

A bit about myself ive had a few reef tanks over the years but have been out of the hobby for 10years or so.

Ive been wanting to get back into it for a while and finally bit the bullet and bought a water box 60.2

So far im very happy with the quality of the tank and cabinet. Sump seems quite well thought out as well.

For the equipment
Ive gone with AI gear.
Ive got the AI prime 16hd
AI orbit 25
AI Axis 90 as the return pump returning via the chiller
AI axis 40 which is sending water from the sump to a remote refugium which overflows back into the sump.
Haliea 250a chiller
Coral box dosing pump which ill eventually dose the randy 3 part mix.
Skimmer i am still to buy but leaning towards the reef octopus essence 130.

On order and waiting for arrival
Top up unit autoaqua lite G2
Aquaone titanium heater 200w
Dymax cubes 1 box worth
RoDi unit 4 stage

Anyway thanks for looking
Les

Tank is now wet as of tonight. Filled with natural sea water as I live right on the beach. I collected right at the mouth an hour before high tide.

I plan on getting a piece of live rock from the lfs tommorow and placing that in to help with the cycle.

I am interested in hearing what others have to say with the bottled stuff to kickstand the cycle along. Ive never used it so not sure how I feel.

Welcome, glad you are here. It looks like you are off to a great start. I’ve never used it because I have always started with all live rock but I know tons of people have used it successfully on here to cycle their tanks.

Nice! Congrats on the new system. If I ever buy a new full plug and play tank system, I’ll go with waterbox as well. Based on my research I totally agree that their sumps are well-designed.

If you are getting a good piece of mature live rock to start things off, your tank shouldn’t need much in the way of cycling. Just go slow with adding livestock so your system can adjust and grow with the bio load.

Also, you can keep your lights off until you have livestock to minimize algae growth with tends to happen in brand new systems.
