Got home from work and my poor clown fish died [emoji19]. I’m supper upset with myself to say the least. Since I’m not sure exactly if it was brooks or velvet for certain, I will wait 6 weeks before adding any new fish.
Does anyone have experience with having a coral only tank?
On a positive note I got myself and a fellow reefer buddy some Oregon blue tort this morning in the mail. One of my favorite corals. I used to have a really nice piece in my old set up.
New frags.

Bummer. Just watch your nutrient levels, may need to feed the corals.

I bought two frags of Oregon blue tort.
Both frags are from the same monther colony but were kept in different area of the tank. It cool how coral placement has such a affect on the colors of the coral. One is much more blue then the other.
Can anyone in fact confirm if this appears to be true og Oregon blue tort ? It looks a bit different from my old tort.

On another note I tried to take a shot of this algae that’s been growing on my rocks the last few weeks. I’m hoping they are just part of the ugly’s that happen in new tanks but after reading about Dino’s it’s got me thinking [emoji848]. My phosphates are 0 and so are my nitrates. I sure hope not.

Nothing much going on to update at the moment.
The tank has been fallow for about 5 weeks.
I want to stay fallow another couple weeks or so before adding new fish. I’ve always considered myself as a coral guy but not having fish is super boring.
I just set up a new quarantine tank this weekend in preparation for a couple of new clown fish I plan on getting soon.
I really like the storm troopers but they’re double my budget for fish.
The algae is mostly gone besides growing very rapidly on the glass. Still no coralline algae though.
My bizarro looks like it might be past the point of no return and my beach bum was on the rocks but now starting to look much better.
I will post some nice pic soon.

I was stuck in the house all day so I decided to try to make a quick video.

So finally after 7 weeks of having a fallow and uneventful nano. I caved in and purchased a new pair of clown fish.
I happened to be in North Lauderdale, so I had to make a stop into jay’s clown fish.
It was cool seeing all different clown fish they had. Definitely worth stopping by and seeing the breading process. So after a long look around I came home with a beautiful bullet hole clown and a davinci clown.
I took my time acclimating them slowly, about two hours.
Now I’m super excited to watch them swim around and add some much needed moment to the tank. Hopefully these guys live a nice harmonious life in the 10 gallon. I’ll post pics soon.

Some updated pics from the weekend.
I passed by a friends house and hooked him up with my second frag of OG, In return he unselfishly blessed me with some goodies. A frag of Red Planet, Rastas and a very tiny Jawbreaker mushroom. Unfortunately the tiny Jawbreaker is not attached to any substrate so I have it in a small container. Inside the container is loose shells and frag plug rubble, hopefully it will attach to something soon and I will take some pics.
