Guys,

is there a particular order in which the provided media go in the back chambers? the box comes with carbon, plastic bio balls and two sponges.

put the bio balls first or sponges first? will it work out drastically differently if the order is changed?

(btw, in chamber 1, where the filter sock goes, I have replaced the sock with a filter floss cup)

since the water flows down, you want the sponge on top to catch the debris so it doesn’t muck up the other media. Under the sponge, doesn’t make a difference any order is ok.

love it, thanks for the reply.

Then do the sponges need to be fully submerged? I see the water level sometimes covering the sponges by about an inch, but sometimes the sponge surface is above the water level slightly.
