watermelon chalice with white spots

I recently purchased a pink watermelon chalice and set it on the bottom of my tank under a ledge for some shade. These spots came slowly and are not spreading but showing up on different areas. My water params are a little high but is that the sole cause of my stress?

A pix may help. I have several chalices that will get white spots on body but more often on rim. It is generally lighting. But to be sure that it is not something else post a picture
